Using recycled polyester and craft paper packaging are good ideas. But to make the textile industry less polluting, the huge manufacturing volumes must first be reduced – and this is one of Loom’s commitments. No advertising, no collection calendars – all our energy and money goes into creating clothing that lasts. We compare our products to what’s on the market, we use laboratories to test their durability, and then we make improvements based on client returns, generation after generation. Manufacturing happens only in France and Portugal, where labour codes give workers the right protection. This also means the Loom team can visit production sites regularly and understand what’s really going on. To protect our planet’s biodiversity, all our clothing is now made with organic materials. Loom is obsessed with quality.

By playing with genres and codes, Karen Lecchi communicates a new interpretation of style inspired by architecture and design. The brand’s wardrobe is made up of clean-lined key pieces that adapt to the uniqueness of strong-willed women who are on the move. The clothes possess an authenticity that gives the wearer the freedom to be her own true self.

Make my Lemonade

Founded in 2015 by Lisa Gachet, Make My Lemonade is the first brand to offer do-it-yourself fashion. The concept: limited edition clothes to make yourself or buy ready-made. Each collection tells a new story, transporting customers to a different world. And every month, a sewing pattern of a design in the collection is available. In total, that makes 12 models from the collections that can be adapted endlessly. It’s a never-ending story! All ready-to-wear manufacturing takes place in Europe, and the brand works with ateliers in Portugal, Spain, Bulgaria, Italy, and even Paris. With each collection, Make My Lemonade reduces the use of synthetic fabrics in its garments. Today, after several months work by in-house teams and suppliers, the brand’s collections are made primarily with natural and recycled materials.

Maison Kitsuné

Created in 2002 by Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, Maison Kitsuné expresses a unique art de vivre through its ready-to-wear label. Kitsuné means “fox” in Japanese, and according to legend, the fox is a mythical animal with the power to change its appearance at will. The Maison Kitsuné fox, which has been the signature logo since the brand began, has fun every season taking on different shapes and colours. Season after season, Maison Kitsuné presents a contemporary vision of fashion with influences from Paris and Tokyo. Constantly updated classic designs give the collections a timeless dimension, while the daring mix of colours, prints, and materials make them definitely modern. The house’s Parisian Collection redefines the silhouette of a modern Parisian. Maison Labiche

Since 2011, Maison Labiche has been creating hand-embroidered T-shirts, using a chain stitch and handwritten lettering inspired by the smocks in 1950s French boarding schools. That font, developed by Maison Labiche, has become the brand’s signature. Every season, a new collection of pictograms – also embroidered over the heart – pairs up with that emblem. Today, with the Do Your Own on-line service or in the boutique, clients can choose the message to be embroidered on a sweatshirt or striped sailor’s T-shirt. Fabrics are carefully chosen with a preference for natural materials, and the garments are produced mainly in Portugal, in selected factories that meet the label’s criteria.
